THE ROLE
Our Engineers help small businesses with any technology questions or problems, we basically do what an I.T. Department would for a large business – anything technology! From servers, laptops, Macs, PCs, printers, phone systems to websites, hosting and advising on product specifications – we do it all.

We currently need a Senior Engineer to work with our Chief Engineer and team of high calibre Trainee and Junior Engineers. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the training and development of all Engineers, including Seniors, and time is allocated each quarter for your continued learning and development.

As a Senior Engineer in our little company, you will liaise with clients on a daily basis and have to manage other Engineers, mainly in the support area of our business – so people management skills are paramount. Some opportunity for consulting projects may arise, however your time will be primarily spent as a senior member of our I.T. Support team.

We don’t mind if you already have a job and have to give notice, we’re happy to wait for the right person.


YOUR BACKGROUND
Demonstrated field experience is required, with at least 5 years working with small-to-medium sized businesses essential. You must have sound knowledge and experience in:

* Microsoft Small Business Server
* Microsoft Windows XP Pro
* Microsoft Active Directory
* Microsoft Exchange 2003
* General IP networking
* General email and hosting services
* Computer hardware and software

Experience with BlackBerry (server and handheld), Apple Macs & iPhones, Windows Mobile, Windows Server 2008, and Exchange 2007 would be desired. Relevant qualifications needed, especially MCSE.

We’ll leave it up to you to tell us why you would be a good addition to our friendly and knowledgeable team. We look after clients with Windows, Mac and Linux machines, so tell us where your passion lies!

PROBATION PERIOD
The first 6 months will be your probation period. If in that period our clients love you, and you love what you do with us – we’ll take you off probation and keep you.

REMUNERATION AND WORK HOURS
The Senior Engineer role is 5 eight hour days per week (40 work hours per week), paid at £25,000-£35,000 (depending on your experience and performance bonus). We pay overtime and each full-time position gets at least 4 weeks annual holiday, and all bank holidays on top.
