Sparks Direct http://www.sparksdirect.co.uk located in Archway are one of the UK’s largest Lighting and Electrical Wholesalers are recruiting a permanent inhouse PHP Systems designer with experience planning and coding point of Sale/ eCommerce (SaaS) software. The job will also entail general Webmaster activities to manage and process orders and correspond with an online marketing team.

Sparks have an old DOS Ranger based system (COBAL based) which is used as a POS, managing supplier orders and generating invoices. The old system also ties into a DOS based reporting tool. Sparks requires a forward thinking inhouse programmer for stage 1 to mimic existing Range functions in a PHP/MySQL format (with an interface into a Zen Cart platform) and setup of new order/invoicing system in Sage. It is essential that you are results driven and able to work alone with very little management. Experience migrating an old system to a new one will be a massive advantage.

• Software / System design – proven commercial experience
• Excellent PHP &&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;;; MySQL skills (OOJ)
• Experience with the Zencart eCommerce platform
• Understanding of Sage &&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;&&;&&;;&&;&&;;;;;; Accountancy
• Experience with RFID / barcode scanners advantageous
• Experience managing customer orders and tracking
• Excellent telephone manner to help with Support
• Understanding of different browsers
• Knowledge of fraud screening will be advantages
• Background in the Lighting / Electrical industry beneficial but not essential
• Good Photo Editing skills (cropping, resolutions, etc’)
• Excellent email and communication skills are essential
