Cabinet maker / Joiner

We are currently looking to recruit a professional and experienced Joiner / Cabinet Maker who will be responsible for working to a high standard and to specific customer requirement within a furniture manufacturing environment.

You will need to work to tight deadlines to produce furniture on agreed time scale to the correct specification and to the highest quality standards. You will have hands-on bench experience in the manufacture of furniture.

Key Skills Required
• GCSE or equivalent City & Guilds (C&G) Certificate in furniture production
• Computer skills MS Office
• Knowledge / understanding of technical drawings
• Wood Spray Staining & Polishing experience - beneficial
• Fork Lift License - beneficial
• Planning and organising
• Good communication skills

Accountabilities
• producing working jigs or templates for production and the assembly of products
• selecting and preparing timber and manufactured board
• marking out, cutting and shaping materials using saws, chisels, planes, power tools and woodworking machines
• selecting the correct adhesives for various applications
• trimming and gluing joints and fitting parts together to form sections of furniture
• placing sections in clamps, applying pressure and reinforcing joints with staples, dowels and screws or nails
• removing sections from clamps and assembling them to form completed articles
• finishing furniture using a range of techniques
• repairing damaged furniture
