I m naive, I believe what people say
I take what people say literally
I assume that because they seem nice enough – they are nice
But I’m learning – the hard way.
I realize now that I don’t know someone until I get to know them over a period of time – by observing their actions
If a person’s actions don’t match their words then I have no respect or time for them
I’m training myself to let peoples words go in one ear and out the other – instead of holding onto what they’ve said and making it mean something
As far as I can tell, most people don’t say what they mean – or mean what they say – so why listen to them?
And even people who've the best intentions still inadvertently misinform/mislead – so there’s no point in taking what people say so literally
I’m training myself to be impressed by one thing only – actions, not words
