London home swap
My great safe quiet Hoxton central London flat for your coastal (1bed)
Mine is a really nice, safe, quiet and secure one-bedroom flat in a friendly neighbourhood. The right side of the canal, on the border of N1, EC1, Islington out of the left window, the city at the front, but yeah the bathroom is in Hackney but it is the posh partt!
The postcode is E2 8BX if you want to google it. Near the canal.
Nearest tubes: Liverpool St/Old st (12 mins walk) New tube line opens next year will be TWO minutes away. Near neighbours; Tracey Emin, Gilbert & george, Jarvis Cocker - new flats round the corner £350K
Hoxton/Shoreditch is the ‘new’ trendy place to be, White cube gallery three mins away and there are bars and clubs a plenty if that’s what you want – five minutes walk away and on the edge of the city, if you’re a finance whiz kid well you couldn’t really get much closer! On the other hand, the canal towpath is an idyllic walkway and at one end is Angel Islington, great for shopping, about twenty minutes stroll, the other way, twenty mins is the lovely Victoria Park and another twenty and you’ll be at the Thames at Limehouse. On Sundays five minutes away is the world famous Columbia Rd Flower Market – another ten mins walk will take you to Spittlefields Sunday market which of course borders the vibrant and thriving Brick lane.
One bus will take you straight to the west end if you want it and all other transport links are on your doorstep. (One bus to the Gatwick Express. Same for Stanstead etc)
There’s a Tesco Metro five min away, good local corner shops, lots of cheap Vietnamese and Turkish restaurants and a brilliant café, The Premises on the hackney rd. Some of London’s best fish and chips at Faulkner’s, just down the road.
There are good schools, one The Bridge Academy one minute down the road has just been built and they spent tons of dosh on it, there’s a college and library with good night classes nearby and the Doctors and Dentists are friendly modern and helpful. Really this is an up and coming area.
My flat is one bed with balcony open plan (ish); I have fitted french window in the balcony so it’s like an extra studio room (see video) and there is a loft space which I have boarded out so tons and tons of storage space - which in London is premium stuff.
Have a look at the film, I’ve changed it a bit since then but you get the idea. Make no mistake you will love the flat when you see it – there’s easy (for London) free parking outside and sharing no walls with neighbours (just one below you) it’s incredibly quiet.
I’m swapping because I’ve been here too long really, that’s all. If I could take my flat with me I would, its perfect in many way but I just want a change and out of London. (I was raised in the country) .
I’ll consider anything half decent – with a few good photo’s and a postcode so I can google the location I’ll let you know if I’m interested as soon as I see them. Scotland isn’t too far and Bournemouth isn’t to dull. Drop me an email, but again ONLY if you have pics and a postcode. Otherwise, I mean what’s the likelihood of you getting it together to swap? Not much I’ll be bound….
