You would have to be an eskimo to not be aware that the euro is gaining on the £ fast. Not only is your Spanish/Portuguese/Italian property costing more you are getting less for your £ when you convert currencies.
On top of that a coffee is costing as much as it does in London!

It was always supposed to be some where to relax and enjoy life without thinking too much about how much your pasta dish would be.

£1 buys you 2.5 Turkish Lira and the economy there is one of the fastest growing in the world. Once Turkey gets into the EU fully the property prices will hit the roof so get in there while you still can. Get great deals like an apartment 20 mins from a truly natural beach (none of your £7 for a sunbed here) with a local bus running past at £2 a trip to take you to Bodrum Town (30 mins).
Views of the sea and the Island of Kos on the horizon. Summer from May til the end of October and fresh food priced how it should be, dirt cheap!
