I am seeking private and/or business sponsorship for the formation of a new chamber orchestra based around the Bloomsbury/Holborn area. I have over the years been involved in the field of classical music, including the setting up of an international soloist competition that's attracting many fine applicants from all over the world each year. The ensemble would initially consist of a few totally professional players along with advanced students (perhaps post-grads) who are looking to play professionally and need a good point of entry into the profession. The idea would be to keep as many regular players as possible for the ensemble to really 'gel' but also to always incorporate a few new advanced students as things progress. Ideally, the orchestra would need around £50,000 per year (wages, office, rehearsals, concert promotion and so on) to make a good start and this could be in the form of either one benefactor/business sponsor and/or a combination of the aforementioned along with other business advertising in the programs, ticket sales and so on. Ideally, a significant private or business sponsor would be the best option in terms of giving the orchestra a good start - all the usual advertising space in programs/friends schemes and so on could still be operative.
