HR Manager- maternity cover 6 – 9 months

This is a generalist role providing hands-on support to all areas of the business which includes a head office based in Oxford Circus, a Distribution Centre in Milton Keynes and 16 stores nationwide. There will be a particular focus on retail recruitment, performance management and career path development, working with the retail operations team to help implement various initiatives. You will oversee the day to day running of the HR/Training department, including the outsourced payroll function. You will oversee the management of a case load of employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, long and short term sickness absence, ensuring consistent outcomes are given at all meetings.

You will manage a small team which includes a HR Officer, Trainer and Training Co-ordinator.

Reporting to the Managing Director and owner, you will be used to working in a fast paced environment and be confident to work autonomously.
This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to all areas of HR in a successful and fast growing Company and to add value to the HR function. You will have a hands-on approach to work and a positive can-do attitude. You will be highly organised and able to deal with a very varied workload and varying demands. You will be commercially focused and have a common sense approach.
A good all-round understanding of and a passion for HR is essential as is an up-to-date knowledge of employment law. Retail HR experience is advantageous.
