These are special ‘step-in’ bindings (hence the ‘SI’ in the title). You don’t have to reach down every time you get off a chairlift/tow to do up your strap bindings, because, as the name suggests, you just step in to these bindings, which lock tight on the base of the boots.

I have used these for just 3 weeks in total since I bought them in 2003 (you can probably tell from the pictures!). Both the boots and bindings are top-end Burton gear – the boots RRP at $230 (about £145) and the bindings RRP at $200 (about £125).

The boots are quite firm and are good all rounders – great on the slope, great off piste, and great in the park. The inners are heat mouldable – if you warm them gently, then step into them and walk around a bit, they mould to the shape of your foot.

The bindings come with a variety of board attachment plates to suit your board.

I would consider selling the boots and bindings separately – Boots £55, Bindings £65.
