** Food Technology Teacher required – UK QTS is a MUST!
** Great PRU (Pupil Referral Unit)
** January start!
** Maternity Cover – Minimum 3 months
** Small groups – 8 pupils maximum!
An excellent Pupil referral Unit based in South West London is looking to recruit a teacher of Food Technology to join their team on an initial maternity cover post. This will be a minimum of 3 months, depending on the current teacher’s return date, and so has the potential to continue for the remainder of the year.
The unit is large, well resourced and caters for approximately 100 pupils who have all been excluded from mainstream education. With this in mind, the school requires a strong character with good classroom management techniques. Class sizes do not exceed eight, with support from a teaching assistant at various times.
This role would suit a candidate with a mainstream background and experience within SEN. Either a mainstream or SEN teacher would be acceptable, however the emphasis is on behavior management! You will focus on KS4 and primarily GCSE, with experience in teaching Btec also being an advantage.
Ideally, the Deputy Headteacher would be keen to see experienced teachers, as due to the nature of the pupils and potential scenarios an NQT may not be applicable. Individuals that are able to build relationships and rapport quickly and effectively will be suited to this post. In order to work within this environment, you cannot demand respect, but earn it and gain the trust of these pupils.
They are hoping to hold interviews immediately, so if you are completing a contract or a current post please do contact me today in order to secure an interview slot.
You MUST however have a valid CRB and hold UK QTS to be considered for this post!
