I am truly sorry if I have offended you by admitting that I eat a bit of non vegan chocolate. I don't have my face in a barrel of molten chocolate or wolf down a box of chocolates every night! My favourite chocolate bars in the whole world are the Frys bars which as you will know are vegan. A couple of years ago, I asked my local newsagent to stock them just for me and I promised to buy one from him almost everyday which I do. If I am out of my locality then I will traipse around from confectioner to confectioner until I find Frys bars.

The only time that I will have a small bar of chocolate which contains milk derivatives is about once every three months when I go up North and Frys bars are not available in the high street shops. I do feel extremely guilty when I eat one of these bars. I find it hard to call myself a vegetarian because apart from this occasional slip up I do not drink milk or consume milk derivatives such as whey, cream or lactose. I drink soya or oat milk everyday. I do not eat butter, etc; I only eat soya spread. I don' t eat cheese and I don't eat eggs.

Like you probably do, I check all food labels including those for soya mince and vegetarian burgers to make sure that they do not contain egg or albumin or any other animal derivatives. I buy releat mince because I know it's vegan! I don't want to say I'm vegetarian for people to serve me up dishes that have all of these animal derivatives. Also I would never wear leather although I do buy cheap, designer looking / leather looking jackets and bags that are always made from pleather or shell which everyone admires because they think that they are designer and leather. I have to show people the labels on the inside of my bags and jackets for them to see that they are not leather.

I don't think that I will ever touch dairy chocolate again because your condemning words will always ring in my ear drums Anna!
