Finance managers urgently needed overseas in 2010
Raleigh, an education charity relies on teams of experienced volunteer managers in project and field based roles to help run community, environment and adventure expeditions for young people aged 17-24 (venturers) from all walks of life. We currently run expeditions in Borneo, Costa Rica and Nicaragua and India.
We are urgently looking for Finance Managers for our expeditions in Costa Rica and India departing in early 2010. Please get in touch if you are interested in applying.

Requirements
Aged 25 to 80, common sense, flexibility, drive, teamworking and some roles require specialist skills
The responsibilities
Set up and run the expeditions accounts.
Supervise day-to-day expenditure and keep clear and accurate records.
Monitor levels of expenditure and cash flow against budget and advise the country director.
Monitor changes in currency exchange and effects on the budget.
Produce 2 interim reports during the programme and a summary at the end for updating head office.
Compiling all insurance claims for the expedition, including receipts and reports.
The skills
Willingness to be flexible and put the needs of the expedition and the venturers first.
Excel skills and experience with double entry bookkeeping.
A demonstration of basic accounting knowledge or prior experience in a financial/accounting role.
Desirable skills
Qualified accountancy skills.

5 week expedition - 9 weeks commitment including training
10 week expedition - 14 weeks commitment including training
