Mediplacements are currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist/ Healthcare Scientist for an ongoing position in London.

The successful Biomedical Scientist will be working in the antiviral department and support the molecular diagnostic work and HIV genotypic resistance testing amongst others.

We are looking for a self motivated Biomedical Scientist who is able to work unsupervised or as part of a team and has vast experience in biological science including molecular biology, virology and good knowledge working with pathogens.

You will be a reliable and motivated Band 6 Biomedical Scientist with great organisation skills, computer and data processing skills the ability to prioritise and manage time and workload is preferred.

All candidates must be fully HPC Registered.

The role of Biomedical Scientist will involve
-Performing HIV genotypic resistance testing and samples, using RT-PCR and nucleotide sequencing.
-Collate results in Unit database
-Receive and unpack blood samples
-Archiving and testing samples
-Routine quality control procedures
-Routine maintenance of consumables and equipment in immediate area of work etc.
-Maintain a high standard if professional competence while carrying out tests and investigations.

You will have a Degree in a relevant biological science, with at least 2 years laboratory experience.
