Our client is a market leader within alternative assets, offering access to a broad range of alternative asset classes including leveraged finance, hedge funds and convertible bonds.

Product management (London) maintains a number of financing arrangements with various counter-parties in order to externalise the financing of the funds. The key purpose of this role within the fund monitoring & reporting team is to take responsibility for new and existing financing deals as detailed below.

Responsibilities
• Compilation of weekly and monthly reports to assist structured finance, counter-parties and content engines in analysing risk, loans to fund figures and to gauge the efficiency of existing deals
• Checking individual risk restrictions for each deal on a monthly basis and liaising with internal departments to ensure awareness of and adherence to these restrictions
• Ensuring cash statements are received in a timely manner from finance providers and monthly liaison with valuations to reconcile balances
• Ensuring that collateral calls are correctly calculated and any cash movements settled
• Building relationships and dealing with queries/requests from counter-parties and content engines
• Liaising with structured finance when new deals are being negotiated
• Analysing loans to funds data in order to proactively identify funds that can go into new and existing financial deals
• Develop a detailed knowledge of funds' structures, histories and existing investment exposures and familiarity with existing and new investment managers
• Becoming involved in projects aimed at improving and automating reporting processes to reduce risk and increase efficiency

Skills/Experience:
• Degree in a numerate or business related discipline
• Awareness of financial instruments and alternative investments, specifically hedge funds
• Advanced Excel user (vlookups, and/if/or statements & array formulae essential; VBA, pivot tables & macros beneficial)
• Confident and professional communicator, capable of effective liaison with internal departments and external counter-parties
• Deadline driven, able to work under pressure whilst still providing timely and accurate information
