Teaching Assistant with Autism Experience
We are currently recruiting for two Teaching Assistants for a mainstream secondary school in the borough of Lambeth.
This is mixed school which is currently receiving additional funding for new classrooms and other facilities. You will be working 1-1 with students with statements for ASD needs. These students are high functioning but have difficulty with communication and social skills.
You will support the students in classes, helping then to interact with their peers and ensuring that they are able to perform to a set level. You will be involved in IEP's and in conjunction with teaching staff ensuring that the students' education is as well rounded as possible.
This is a lovely school, with a very friendly staff and relatively few behaviour issues. The roles are for an immediate start but may be extended if the candidate is successful. Candidates will need to show experience with ASD students.
Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:
* You must have good spoken English;
* You must have a minimum of 6 months child related experience;
* Your CV must cover the last 5 years employment history and any employment breaks must be explained;
* You need to supply two recent references of which one must be from a school setting;
* This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
