Au Pair needs for friendly family in North London

We are:
A busy family based in Palmers Green in North London (N13) looking for a fun, energetic, responsible and caring au-pair to help with two lovely children aged 5 and 7 to start as soon as possible.

Both my husband and I work full time and need support and help with looking after our lovely children. I leave for work at 7:30am and am often out for at least 12 hours a day. My husband leaves later and therefore is able to take the children to school, but often doesn’t get back in until past 8:30pm. Luckily for him, as he works locally he is often able to pop back home once or twice a day.

What we need is some one to help at both ends of the day.

First off we need around 1 hour’s help first thing to help with breakfast, dressing the children and clearing up once they’ve left for school. After this, we would like to help with some light household duties, including hoovering, dusting, laundry etc. This should only take around 1 and ½ hours a day.

The children need to be picked up from school at 3:30 so you will have to be there on time and bring them home. Once home, they will be your responsibility until one of us gets back. This will include taking to after school activities, helping with homework, taking them out to the park etc, cooking and giving them their supper, bathing and settling them down for bed.

Between finishing up in the house and collecting from school the time is yours. There is a good local college which has reputable language courses if this is what you want.

Every week we will require 2 evenings for babysitting and as my job is quite hectic one evening may be very short notice. One of the evenings may quite possibly be a Saturday, but can change week on week. Other than possible babysitting, the weekends will be yours.

So far as driving is concerned, we have a car that can be used during the week, so a license would be preferable.

Our requirements of you are:
• Have experience with children and if possible as an au-pair
• Speak good English
• Provide references
• Be able to work in the UK
• Be a non-smoker
• Be available for interview in London
• Preferable driving license
• Be able to cook and understand about providing a balanced diet
• Immediate start

What we have to offer:
You will have your own double bedroom with wifi internet access and tv/dvd player. We live in a culturally vibrant part of north London, with good local bus links and a rail line that takes you into central London in 20 minutes. Also there are lots of other au pairs nearby for you to start to create a social network. We are willing to pay between £75 and £100 per week depending on experience and housekeeping responsibilities agreed.
