Singing lessons offered to everyone from BEGINNERS to PROFESSIONALS in all styles of music (except opera).

Study with a very experienced performer & teacher (over 20yrs experience); who has worked extensively in the UK, Europe and the USA (resident performer & teacher in New York City for 3 years until 2008). Currently resident professor for Colchester Institute's Musical Theatre Degree courses.
Vocal technique developed while studying on the post graduate jazz course at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama (in the Barbican); and privately after finishing at Guildhall School during the early '90s.

Learn in an encouraging and friendly environment:

BASIC VOCAL TECHNIQUE - so you can get the best out of your voice, without doing any damage to it.
SONG INTERPRETATION - work on a wide variety of songs which you bring to the lessons, or which can be chosen from one of many songbooks here.
BASIC MUSIC THEORY - learn some basics of how to read music, transpose songs into a good key for you, understand a little harmony (ie: chords to accompany a soloist, or for group singing).
IMPROVISING SKILLS - either for fun, or to work on in greater detail for those wanting to improve jazz singing.
RHYTHM WORK - work on good time-keeping while singing, learn to count in an accompanist or a band; learn different rhythms & grooves for different styles of music.
MICROPHONE TECHNIQUE - learn the skills of good mic use, and how to sing through an amplifier.
PERFORMANCE SKILLS & OVERCOMING NERVES - learn some techniques to help with your overall performance level.
SONGWRITING - learn some tips on good songwriting.
AUDITION SKILLS - learn some useful tips on how to do well in auditions.
GETTING WORK AS A SINGER - learn of ways to start getting gigs, or other work in the music world.
RUNNING A BAND - tips on do's & don'ts when running a band.

JUST SINGING FOR FUN - if you just want to have fun, and get energized by vocalising; without any of the serious theory work.
