The MIGHTY PUTNEY MAGPIES are now currently on the search for new footy talent from anywhere in Great Britain to get on board and play Australian Rules Football with the club this season in 2008.

Over the last 3 years we have had 15 players represent Great Britain at a national level, and currently have 5 players in the GB squad traveling to Australia for the upcoming “Australian Football International Cup Series” to be held in Melbourne in August in 2008. What a great way to represent your country!

The Australian Football International Cup is an international Australian Rules Football competition hosted by the Australian Rules Football League. The goal of the competition is to promote the sport outside Australia. The tournament is the largest international Australian Rules Football event and the only one that is open to worldwide senior competition. Up to 20 nations are expected to compete next year.

The Magpies host a team in each of the two divisions of the local London Australian Rules Football League, each team involving 18 on field players plus substitution players. The season involves 12 rounds plus finals from May to August, plus a pre season competition.

Training is every Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm at South Park, Parsons Green.
