Whilst this may not be the appropriate site, I do hope that someone can help, or point me in the right direction. I have recently started entertaining more mature folk with music, something I did some years back.

It is purely voluntary; however, I have come a bit of a cropper, as the music I played then, is well before the time of the generation of those now retired. Whilst I have loads of the twenties and thirties, I need to record more of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. I do not have any recording equipment, and am simply looking for a working hi-fi with a turntable, and two tape-decks, best with high-speed dubbing. I do as well need a separate turntable with 78rpm possibilities, as a lot of the music I will be recording is from bakelite.

I have the telephone number (020..) and name of the person who can testify to my honesty. Unfortunately the charity concerned, for whom my referee works, does not have a budget to spare of more than about £40; being currently unemployed, I do not have the wherewithal to resolve this of my own. My work for them is totally on a voluntary basis.

The equipment will be donated on the understanding that it belongs to the charity and not to me. I do hope that someone can assist, as now my police check has been approved, I would rather like to have some Christmas sessions.
