Not far from Crystal Palace (25 minute walk, Zone 3) which has lots of lovely cafes, restaurants and shops....

Takes 12 minutes to walk to Norwood Junction. The fast train to London Bridge takes 12 minutes and the train to Victoria takes 25 minutes. There is also an express bus from South Norwood to central London (costing £1 each way with an oyster card). It is an X68 bus, the first one leaves after 6am and then every 15 minutes until 8.45am. It takes roughly 40 minutes to an hour (depending on the traffic) and takes you all the way to Waterloo without stopping (it's a bit like a coach), and the final stop is Russell Square.
