Now in their 5th year our charity fundraising teams have successfully raised £ millions for Shelter and the amazing work that they do. The operation has moved from being a small London based street fundraising team, to also include a door-to-door operation and recently expanded to the North of England. It’s a testament to how brilliant Shelter is and how well we look after our teams, that we still have some original members who joined us 5 years ago.

Why have they stayed so long?

It’s a very rewarding job. Being a street and door-to-door fundraiser means that you get to talk to some interesting and inspiring people about a cause that you feel really passionate about. You are personally responsible for using your blinding communication skills and passion to turn someone perhaps sceptical about what charities do into an equally passionate supporter and donor of the charity. Our street and door-to-door fundraisers can proudly look back and see a direct relation between that conversation they had on the street or at the door and the amazing services that Shelter are able to provide.
