Six month event management internship for Experienced graphic designer

UK AWARE (www.ukaware.com) is the UK's only green lifestyle exhibition. We have a non-salaried intern-ship position available for an EXPERIENCED graphic designer who is looking to start a career in the prestigious event management sector.

The role is full-time, 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Start date: 9 November 2009.

Although the position is non-salaried, we do offer travel expenses (in-line with our expenses guidelines and upon presentation of receipts - paid on a fortnightly basis). We also offer 20% of event guide advertising profits and 1% commission of all event exhibitor sales (this will be paid upon completion of the intern-ship). This OTE figure could total over £2,000.

REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for the role you will have:

Perfect grasp of Adobe Illistrator
A portfolio of your work which you can bring to your initial interview
Perfect spoken AND written English
Confidence to pick up the phone and make sales calls
Experience and enthusiasm for managing our online presence on Facebook and Twitter etc.
A proven sales record and a performance driven personality
An interest in green issues
Checkable references
Your own transport, or the ability to get to UB5 6QX by 9.00am

YOUR ROLES:

Design and production of 10,000 issues of the UK AWARE 10 event guide. (This will include exhibitor lists for 200 exhibitors, seminar program information, adverts, copy and floor-plan.)
Data inputting. You will be expected to spend two hours per day building our database.
Management of exhibitor relationships and collating exhibitor information. This will involve daily communication with our exhibitors A meticulous telephone manner is imperative.
To maintain the working design of the floor-plan.
Sales - to contact potential exhibitors. You will be expected to spend two hours per day calling potential exhibitors. There will be an additional performance related bonus for sales generated.
