Lawyer Paralegal assistant
An opportunity exists to work as a lawyer/ paralegal for a niche intellectual property law firm based in Islington, London N1.
We are interested in finding a quality candidate with previous work experience who can add value immediately both in terms of the legal work of the firm and in assisting on various writing projects, social media and other marketing exercises.
Although the role primarily involves working for the law firm, there is an associated internet business that provides websites and internet marketing services for whom the job applicant may also do some work. For the right candidate the role could lead to a position with great long term career prospects.
Due to the wide range of skills required for the position, we are open to considering a number of possible backgrounds. Candidates could therefore fit into one of the following profiles:
Profiles of candidate:
1. Some background in law, and significant marketing experience.
2. Some background in law and significant work experience in any field.
3. Some background in law and an IT educational background, such as having studied computer science.
4. Foreign qualified lawyer with at least two years work experience who is seeking to re-qualify in the UK.
5. Qualified UK Solicitor. This position presents an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial lawyer to specialise in a popular area of the law. The remuneration will be the basic salary advertised here plus a commission arrangement. So, the potential rewards could be high.
6. Other: please explain why you consider your background suitable.
General requirements applicable for all profiles:
1. Great administrative skills;
2. Excellent IT skills;
3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software;
4. Advanced IT literacy, beyond routine Office applications;
5. Excellent communication both oral and written;
6. Remarkable interpersonal skills, a good teamworker;
7. Good telephone manner;
8. One year minimum experience of working in an office environment in the UK;
9. Outstanding organisational skills;
10. Ability to work independently with initiative and common sense;
11. Positive enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude.
12. Ideally a degree 2:1 or above (although this is not essential),
Salary:
The basic salary will be up to £15,000 depending on experience.
