Do you own a car and want to use it one Sunday month to deliver food to Hiv people in London?,
The Food Chain prepares and delivers nutritious meals every Sunday from six different kitchens around London to people who are housebound with HIV-related illnesses.
In order to reach as many people as possible, we need volunteers who love driving and have access to a car to help us deliver meals to our clients. We are looking for drivers who are interested in helping out at any of our kitchens - Bermondsey, Hammersmith, Highbury, Kentish Town, Stepney Green and Tooting.
Drivers work one Sunday a month with a navigator who directs them around the 8 to 10 households due to receive meals that day. A sense of calm and the flexibility to deal with roadworks and unexpected diversions are useful, while reliability is paramount.
For those people who are concerned about the financial cost of driving during this difficult economic time, we are able to reimburse petrol expenses at a rate of 40p/mile whilst you are out driving for us.
If you can help us feed the fight against HIV, please contact The Food Chain office on 020 7354 0333 or chris.gurney@foodchain.org.uk for a copy of our application form.
