1 Bed Bath in 2bed 2bath apartment on Southbank (£1,000 pcm)
Looking for an easygoing flatmate to share this nice pad in a former MI5 building. (Psst...by the way, Jennifer Aniston used to live in a penthouse here, Kevin Spacey and Yuri Geller still do)
Literally next door to Lambeth North underground (Bakerloo). Buses number 12, 53, 148, 453, and C10 will drop you directly to the doorstep.
About 4 mts walk to Waterloo station (Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern, Waterloo & City, British Rail and international lines and Thameslink - probably the best connected location in London), and about 5 mts walk to Westminster tube station (Jubilee, Circle, District lines).
You can walk to Picadilly Circus in 20 mts.
Imperial war museum is a neighbor. Very close to a "village"-like open-market called Lower Marsh with tons of eateries, and all sorts of esoteric shops, in addition to all the stuff at Waterloo. Young Vic and Old Vic are with a 5 mts walk reach. Of course, major sights of London like Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye etc are all a short leisurely stroll away.
The building is a modern, much sought-after development with 24-hr concierge, video entry-phone, multiple elevators etc.
The apartment itself is on the 6th floor, and has nice views of the city. It is a decent-sized 2 bed, 2 bath apartment, and even has a little balcony.
Couples are welcome, no difference in rent. However, the room being offered may be a little tight for couples. Since I moved to London from Atlanta GA, all London apartments seem very small to me, and it may very well be that a couple may find it nice and cosy and romantic...what with a private toilet/bath. Size of the room is 10ft x 10 ft and it has a double bed in it.
Open plan kitchen is well-equipped with oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, basic cutlery etc. Washer-dryer.
Air conditioned. Videophone entry system. 24 hr concierge.
A cleaner comes every weekend to give the place a scrubbing. She can also iron clothes.
Your share of the rent will be £1000 per calendar month (230 per week). Utilities and bills (electric, phone, broadband, council tax, cleaner, etc) are included.
A refundable security deposit of £1500 is required.
Available for move-in immediately.
Available for viewing: weekends and evenings only.
The current lease expires on 31 Jan 2010, but we can renew it if both of us agree.
Anything I've missed? Oh yeah, I'm a management consulting professional and have moved to London from the States. Considerate and friendly. Have no pets. Don't mind pets. Don't smoke. If you smoke, I'd request you do it outside (or in the balcony). Like music, reading, movies (have a bunch of books and DVDs), not an artist but like to paint, can't swim but love to white-water raft, can't fly but love to skydive...
