11-16 specialist ‘Sports’ college requires an experienced ASD learning support assistant to join this specialised ASD provision from January 2010 on a long term basis. The school is ideally located within the East London borough of Waltham Forest.

This school is very proud of its’ specialist sports status, which is the framework of their work to raise achievement and to promote the personal development of all their students. Staff and students work purposefully together in an environment rich in tradition but which also embraces modern working practices and technology From January 2010 or earlier for the right candidate the school requires an experienced ASD learning support assistant to join a KS3 class. Candidates with PECS or MAKATON experience will have a distinct advantage. A keen interest in sports will be greatly appreciated as well as a good attitude to taking part in extra-curricular activities.

The school was inspected by OFSTED in November 2008 and was judged to be good in all aspects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ASD teaching assistant or a recent psychology graduate who has an element of knowledge associated with autism to work in one of London’s top SEN provisions within a mainstream school.
