There are several safety measures to make sure the cigars that you are buying are genuine. A Havana is produced under strict supervision by Habanos SA which guarantees the quality of the cigar. The following are found on a genuine box of Havana cigars:

1. ‘Habanos’ sticker placed diagonally across the corner of the box.
2. Warranty seal on the box. This is a green and white label. New labels have a stet that is only visible under ultraviolet light and an individual serial number.
3. Stamped on the bottom is the Habanos s.a. ‘logo’.
4. Underneath that there will be a stamp saying ‘HECHO EN CUBA’ (Made in Cuba).
5. And under that ‘Totalmente a mano’ (Totally by hand).
