Passionate about Music?
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to a new era in online music reporting…
We are Gobshout, a brand new music website due to go live in August.
Formed through a shared boredom and discontent with the current musical content available on the web, we decided to design a place where the star of the show is not the singer, the guitarist or the DJ, but YOU, the ordinary passionate music fan with a flair for words.
Our aim is for our content to be entirely generated by our readers. You do not necessarily need to be the best writer in the world to get your writing published on Gobshout (though do get in touch if you are!). What matters to us is that you have something to say, whether it be in the form of comment, an album review, gig review, or just a general rant about something that’s got your back up in the industry.
We are also dedicated to finding and promoting the best in new and unsigned talent throughout the country. A lot of our output will be geared towards this, so if you have your ear to the ground of the new music scene, this is the place to tell people about who you are watching and listening to.
What we need at the moment is a diverse team of writers from all over the UK (and beyond) who are ready to contribute straight away. If you think this could be you, please send an email to info@gobshout.com with SHOUT OUT written in the subject bar, and a short 100-200 word introduction to yourself, what type of music you are passionate about, and why.
There is also the potential for regular part-time editorial and staff jobs for the right people looking to gain some invaluable experience in journalism. If you would be interested in this, please say so in your email.
As is the norm we are unable to pay you as of yet, but part-time staff and writers who we like and contribute regularly will get free gig/festival tickets and CD’s to review.
We look forward to hearing from you.
