I have a brand new clarinet for children as young as 6 years old.
It has all the features of a 'normal' clarinet and uses a proper reed too.
if you are thinking about buying a clarinet for your child but you are concerned it might be too early the C clarinet is a perfect option. Later when the child is ready for a bigger instrument there is no problem with switching to it at all.
