Overall Purpose Statement:
Work as part of the Content Team to deliver high quality copy for our high profile clients including Microsoft, Vodafone and Dell.
Description of roles & relationships
The role involves working with other writers, editors, account managers and service teams (eg. Design, Web Development teams) to develop copy required for client projects.
This includes writing case studies, solution profiles, web content and technical brochures and other material as required.
External relationships
The position involves relationships with account teams, existing and potential clients and Suppliers
List of duties & tasks
Prepare great content for our clients:
• Copywriting: interviewing clients and customers, researching and writing copy
• Sub-editing: taking prewritten copy, and rewriting and restructuring to the highest possible standard
• Proof-reading: as part of the print/publication sign off process
• Producing website copy and technical user guides/manuals
Contribute to the Metia knowledge base:
• Establish self as editorial ‘guru’ in appropriate industry/tech areas – such as Microsoft, financial services plus others
• Attend internal brainstorming meetings contributing ideas, experience and customer/industry knowledge
• Attend client strategy/brainstorming meetings as Metia representative demonstrating our clear understanding of clients, their customers, industries and technologies
• Contribute to internal resources: editorial intranet, editorial workshops etc.
Comply with Metia internal procedures:
• Act as an ambassador for Metia at all times
• Understand and adhere to Metia IT and support procedures including timesheets, virus scanning, leave notification and punctuality requirements.
Personal development:
• Work with manager to identify opportunities for personal development
• Identify and attend appropriate training courses for own benefit and for writing team
• Proactively participate in content team and company activities

Person Specification
Essential:
• A degree level qualification
• Proven business writing skills
• An interest in and experience of writing about technology
• Excellent communication, team-working and interpersonal skills
• Evidence of working with a client to deliver a set brief
• The ability to consistently manage and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
• Business computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Desirable:
• Experience of producing financial technology or health technology content is highly desirable
• Experience of producing website copy
• Advanced editorial skills
• Previous digital agency experience
