This van has been converted simply from a hightop B.T dayvan with full service history into a camper. We have created a partition from the main sleeping/living area for the separate kitchen and toilet compartment in the rear of the van.
There is a cooker and grill, with all pipework to the regulator plumbed in (we may be able to supply gas bottle, but are using this in our current camper). The kitchen has shelving and hooks a plenty as well as good food and utensil storage.There is a separate toilet compartment and porta potti. The water container, porta potti and gas bottle are all accesible from the rear doors, making it easy to change / empty/ fill etc. there is good storage here too.To minimise weight and increase economy , I have used simple curtains to separate areas. There is plenty of storage and a 12v lighting system. There is also access to further 12v electrics, which at present is wired in but not being used.The ceiling is insulated and we have insulated all the walls and wood panelled over. There is a built in Eberspacher heater which operates on diesel from the tank and blows air into the living area-this is an excellent heating source compared to gas heaters and is very economical and creates dry heat ( i.e creates no condensation like gas) and heats the van up very quickly. It operates from a switch on the dashboard.
Apart from the double bed- under which there is lots of storage space- in the main living area we have made a superstrong bunk which can take the weight of me at 14 stone and is the full 6 foot length -as of course is the double bed. the bunk has a canvas base and is safe for a child due to its sides preventing any falling out of bed! We have also fitted a small bed suitable for a child up to about 7 yrs, over the cab area which has its own light. (There is a door separating the cab area from the living area which means the overcab bed can be closed over partially for safety.) Opposite the double bed is a good sized cupboard with access from the front and the side. the top surface of the cupboard slides out to make a table . This surface also slides forward to make a temporary berth for another child up to about 10 yrs and we have cushions which go on top. Yes, we have had a family of five in here This top surface also fits into the cab, across the seats to create a berth there, if necessary potentially even allowing another berth to be made from the cupboard top
