My client who have a large presence in the engineering field are looking for an immediately available Financial planning analyst to join them until the end of the year to cover a temporary need.

The key role purpose is to support the head of financial planning in the production of cost tables. You will need to be very analytical as you will need to control data explanation (principally cost).

* Working with the head of financial planning to review submissions to ensure they reflect the wishes of the Asset managers. This will require critical analysis and appraisal as Asset Managers plans.
* Support Asset Managers in the production of cost models
* Work alongside management to identify data which needs to be improved and help to prepare papers and presentations for submission
* Work with the internal database manager to post approved changes
* Produce detailed reconciliations to demonstrate data does agree with source systems
* Analyse data as required in order to provide answers to managers, stakeholders etc
* Consolidate unapproved project forecasts from Asset Manager forecasts, report the results every period

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA) and have outstanding Excel skills. The internal database is based around Excel.
A background in working in a multi project environment is also key for this position as are excellent analytical skills and a good level of initiative.
