This leading insurance based Financial Services provider requires a Locum Lawyer for a 4-6 month contract whilst they recruit a permanent member of staff.

The organisation, seen as a market leader within its core business of General and Life insurance, has a global network of offices and focuses on its key markets in North America and Europe.

The position will be to work in either its Dublin or Reading offices (* Client is flexible on where this would be) and will be focusing on their EU business. The candidate will have Life insurance experience ideally (although we will consider candidate with other more general insurance experience) and more critically, European experience.

Compliance experience would also be an advantage and the candidate must have an understanding of EU regulations and local marketing. Any European languages would be desirable especially French or Swedish.

Day to day responsibilities of the job include managing relationships with external lawyers in relation to EU issues, supporting and providing advice to the business on EU legal issues, supporting the Dublin General Manager over corporate issues and Involvement in their legal issues within the EU market.

We would expect a lawyer with the given PQE to have gained the level of experience required, but this does not preclude applications from those with more or less PQE.
