Information Technology is a core strength and the technical challenges and breadth of technology exposure will be attractive to candidates wishing to be part of a dynamic team that will present them with a stimulating environment. The Systems team is growing and the company wishes to find outstanding individuals who can contribute to this team. There are a broad range of technologies and systems in use, and the team supports an advanced, high-pressure environment.
The Role
The company is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to work within the Systems team. From day 1 the successful candidate will be dealing with a huge range of technology, from CRM systems to market data feeds, from Microsoft Exchange server to desktop PC deployments, from security issues to helping setup new offices, from sourcing new equipment to coming up with novel ways of disposing of old assets, from writing Perl scripts to trying to understand bastion hosts at the border of the network, from dealing with problems on automated trading systems to ensuring viable backups and continuity plans are in place.
This is very much a hands-on technical role, and provides an excellent learning experience for candidates wanting to move further into the field of systems administration. The Junior Systems Administrator will have access to work class senior team members, who will be able to help with advice, troubleshooting, training and project work.

This role requires bright candidates, with drive and energy and preferably some experience of working within an IT role – 12-24 months in the right environment would be suitable, or a recent Computer Science graduate. The candidate should have a technical background, preferably at degree level. Financial institution experience in a trading environment is preferable. The company has high academic hiring standards and prefers degree qualified candidates with a 2:1 degree or better. A-levels of grades A or B in relevant subjects and real interest in IT systems or Systems Administration
