This is a unique opportunity for a pensions lawyer with a pure pensions or corporate background to join this government regulator based in Brighton (1 hour from London). The aim of this position is to play an active role within a peer team in order to provide input to pensions avoidance cases.
You would be working as part of a cross-functional team providing detailed legal case analysis and managing the progress of contentious cases.
You will also be asked to provide legal analysis and guidance and to contribute to the development of regulations, policies and operational guidelines.
Duties:

Ensuring the smooth flow of potentially contentious cases from receipt to closure Rapidly assessing the transaction at the centre of avoidance cases
Providing high quality legal expertise to cases.
Building case history knowledge management.
Assisting and providing input to any proposed changes in pensions legislation

Experience

Significant knowledge and experience of pensions law Knowledge of the Pensions Act 2004 and regulations made under it Ability to rapidly assess the legal and pension issues relating to a corporate body

We would expect a lawyer with the given PQE to have gained the level of experience required, but this does not preclude applications from those with more or less PQE.
