Umbrella Company Payroll Accountant
We are a popular, forwarding thinking Umbrella company situated in London and have been operating for over a decade. Our contractors/clients range from Engineers to IT developers and we have a very loyal clients base due to our strong focus on Client Services. We are currently scouting the market for an Umbrella Company Payroll Accountant to take over from our current payroll accountant.
We are only interested in interviewing candidates that have at least 2 years experience in running payroll for one an Umbrella company currently operating in the UK.
If this is you, we will be looking for the following attributes:
- You must have managed payroll in an Umbrella company recently
- You will be solely responsible for the receipt of all time sheets and expense claim forms from Umbrella contractors and will need to manage all your own administration
- You would calculate the PAYE tax and NI, deducting any legitimate business expenses against tax and paying the contractor their net salary - responsible for all bank transfers
- You would send payslips to clients via email and may be required to explain pay breakdowns to clients who do not understand the calculations, therefore your understanding of the UK tax system is vital.
- You need to be completely confident and mature in managing the payroll process from A to Z without any errors - there will be no other person in the company in this role, so we will be completely dependent on your skills and experience
- You will need brilliant client services skills and be polite and patient when dealing with clients
- You do not have to be a qualified accountant but must be fluent in Excel, TAS, SAGE 50 and payroll accounting.
Salary IRO £30 000 - £35,000 pa. depending on experience, plus bonus and employee benefits.
