**ASD Primary Teacher – KS2 – East London borough of Hackney
**January 2010 Start - Long Term Sickness Cover
**Excellent SEN & ASD on site provisions
**’Good’ to ‘Outstanding’ school (OfSTED 03/2009)
Required for a new year start is an enthusiastic and committed teacher of SEN to work within a specialist ASD unit within this mainstream primary school. The school is a heavily over-subscribed mixed and successful multicultural primary school with a small proportion of students with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) as well as an expanding ASD provision for a small group of children.
The Learning Support department is based in a newly refurbished area. The team consists of SEN, EAL and Mentors and provides learning support across the school through in class support and withdrawal. The successful candidate should hold a relevant qualification in SEN and have experience of supporting young people with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs in particular teaching ASD students. A recognised qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties, though not essential, would be an advantage.
The school is a good to excellent school (OfSTED March 2009). The school has a long standing success in supporting, developing and promoting staff who are committed to excellence for both their own career and student performance. The school offers a caring and supportive working environment with good leadership from senior management and training programmes for new staff members. Excellently resourced and fully equipped with interactive facilities in all classrooms and excellent technical and administrative support, an added bonus with each teacher being offered a laptop computer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ASD Primary teacher who has a passion and belief that they can make a difference. The school will be interviewing ASAP. If you want to be considered for this role then please send your CV to me today to arrange an immediate interview.
