One fo my client Special Schools in Hillingdon is looking for an enthusastic, inspirational and motivated individuals to work as Learning Support Assistant from January.

Ideally you will have previous experience working with pupils who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder & Challenging behaviour, however they will also consider Graduates who are interested in becoming Speech & Language Therapist, or Educational Psychologist in the future.

The school is an independent special school for children aged between 3½ years and 19 years of age.

All pupils have a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome (AS) or high functioning autism and/or semantic pragmatic disorder. Some pupils may have a diagnosis of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) Syndrome. A wide range of ability levels may be expected along with a diversity of challenging attributes.

The school itself has excellent facilities split across 2 sites, plus a dedicated and vibrant team of teachers and support staff.

Your main duties will be working across either Primary or Secondary in a class of no more than 9 students, working in groups with a class teacher and other LSA’s, but there will also be times when you will be required to work 1:1.
