Do you enjoy working with young people? Are you a leader?

If you are looking for a challenging but hugely rewarding volunteer role, this might be for you!

We are an inner city Scout Group, based near Victoria Station, working with a great group of girls and boys from a range of backgrounds. We meet as an after school club in a Primary School.

We have two Sections:

- Beavers, aged 6 to 8, who meet on Mondays between 3.30 and 5.00pm
- Cubs, aged 8 to 11, who meet on Thursdays between 3.30 and 5.15pm

Leaders help plan and deliver our programme; this can mean anything from running games and activities, organising camping holidays and trips out, or helping to keep records up to date.

If you enjoy working with young people and think you could you make a real difference, how about volunteering with us? Scouting encourages young people to develop intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually. We do this through a whole range of activities, everything from circus skills and canoeing to street sports and community projects.

You don't need any experience, but you should be confident about working with children, and willing to get involved and help our meetings run. We’ll make sure that you feel welcomed and valued, and of course you won’t be left on your own. You will be supported by others sharing similar experiences, and we will provide any training that you need.

You should be aged over 18, and you will need to complete an application form and a Criminal Records Bureau check. We meet after school, so you will need to be available from 3.30pm, either on a Monday or Thursday. You don't have to help every week, but you do need to let us know in advance when you can volunteer.

Whatever you choose to do, you’ll be contributing to the community, using your talents and developing skills, all whilst meeting new people and having fun!
