Mother Nature Science provides fun science activities to 4-12 year old children through our ‘out-of-school clubs’ and ‘in-school workshops’ that take place at local primary schools, and birthday parties that take place at private venues chosen by parents.

We are currently in search of Science Activity Instructors to join our team either on a part-time or full-time basis. Our ideal candidates are enthusiastic, inspirational, dynamic and energetic individuals with a keen interest in promoting fun, stimulating learning for children. You will be responsible for facilitating hands-on, interactive science demonstrations to children of primary/pre-school age. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are looking to become teachers in the future or wish to gain UK classroom experience. Full training will be provided, no experience is necessary. Trainee teachers and further education students are welcome!

You must have the following attributes:
• A passion for working with children;
• Good rapport with children;
• Have charisma to win the interest of children;
• Confident presentational manner;
• A car owner (ideally);
• Have, or would be prepared to get a full CRB check.

Following attributes are preferable but by no means essential as full training will be provided:
• Have some experience of working with children aged between 4 and 12;
• A science background;
• First Aid.

Each Out-of-School Club session is around 1 hour long and Instructors need to teach their class each week during term time from circa 07:35 to 08:50 (before school) or from 15:15 to 16:30 (after school). We pay £25-£30 + mileage allowance per session for this once you have qualified as an Instructor.

We also run birthday parties and special events which Instructors deliver either after school hours or between 1000hrs and 1730hrs on Saturdays and Sundays. We pay up to £65 + mileage allowance per presentation and it is possible to earn £130 over one weekend and still be free for each evening. It is also possible for Instructors who do both after school clubs and parties/events to earn more than £800 per month (depending on bookings).
