Official Godin Glissenatr info A11 Glissentar In a nutshell its an eleven string fretless acoustic electric instrument strung with nylon strings and tuned to standard guitar tuning. More than ever before musicians are mixing sounds and musical styles from all over the world. This often involves the mixing of Eastern and Western music such as using a Sitar in a western musical setting or using western instruments to imitate the sounds in eastern music. The Glissentar was inspired by a similar desire to mix elements of East and West but in this case in the instrument itself. The Western part of the equation is easy to recognize as a variation on the guitar. All of the instruments basic dimensions scale length body size depth fingerboard radius and string height are fairly standard for acoustic electric guitars. The Eastern influence in the Glissentar comes from the Oud an ancestor of the Mandolin that dates back to the seventh century. The Oud is also an eleven-string fretless instrument and is still in use today primarily in Armenia and Egypt. Adapting to this new instrument is actually a great deal easier than it appears. The shape and scale of the neck and the easily visible side position markers help to give the Glissentar a very familiar feel. Unfortunately Im having to sell this because money is tight and I already use a Peavey 2x12. There are no faults with this amp but there are some tiny tolex markings around the bottom due to transporting. The amp does well to keep up with expensive alternatives the 3120 and Avt series amp for instance. It has one clean channel which is decent enough. Nice shiny tone when set low but a nice overdrive when you whack up the level. There is one Distortion channel however there are two different types of gain to choose from selectable via front panel and footswitch This is a great feature that i have grown to love as gain 1 has an awesome Mesa sound and gain 2 is a familiar Marshall tone. The Distortion channel has a nice addition of a Contour knob. And to be perfectly honest i have no idea what it does but effectively i used it to separate my guitar tone from the second guitar player which it did quite nicely. Im not saying that this amp is as good as both a Marshall and Mesa boogie but for the price it does more than enough. Also there is a built in reverb with a nice simple Reverb knob for either more or less. Not available via the footswitch that comes with the amp but you can plug your own into it to access the reverb. On the back the amp has an effects loop with signal output and input volume controls. This is a nice feature if you have a pedal board. If you are going to use this amp to record with you can utilise the Line Out feature that is located on the back. Ths just takes your amps signal and allows you to plug it into a rack unit. Personally i used a focusrite channel strip with great success. Needless to say but when mixed in with the miced sound it sounds very juicy. If ever you need to play quietly either in your bedroom or at night there is a master volume and a head phone socket. Made by Antoine Courtois circa 1870s to early 1880s. Silver plated brass the silver plate has significant wear but I used some of that rub-on silverplate solution to even out the color. It is in 19th century high pitch. This was a bit of a mess when I purchased it it wasnt playable. It received a basic play condition repair valves and slides were unstuck major dents removed including a kinked leadpipe. The horn now looks pretty good overall and plays pretty well. It takes me a little while to get used to the original cone-shaped mouthpiece every time I pick it up. I have used this for a few demonstrations and at tuba Xmas. This guitar has been in its case for many years. This guitar plays like an old friend. Stays in tune and rings forever. Classic Fender Stratocaster sound. This guitar has been babied. Neck straight as an arrow. This guitar has no issues other than slight buckle rash and a ding here and there this guitar is in excellent condition. The finish is truly amazing with tobacco browns and vivid reds and beautiful yellows. Thin nitro finish must be seen in person to fully appreciate. Fender did pay special attention to this one for sure. Original case (one latch doesn t spring open but still works) whammy bar tremolo cover and rear plastic guard included. 1966 and the &quot Es&quot Stamp. In 1966 Fender used the &quot Es&quot code a lot on their custom color instruments. At least for 1966 the Es code was used as some sort of default for custom colored instruments (be it Teles or Strats or Jazz Basses This two letters quot Es&quot for &quot Enter Special&quot seems to denote a special order at least for 1966. Again this is has been seen lots of times on 1966 documented original custom color instruments. This slab-board Strat serial x features original factory sonic blue finish over a daphne blue uunder-coat original electronics (including pickups pots capacitors cloth wiring) all original and untouched solder joints original matching 1962 Stackpole pots with corresponding 304 6232 date codes original and un-cracked Green guard original frets all original hardware and screws and original brown hard case. This is an extremely rare guitar given the original sonic blue finish. Slab board Strats are rare in Any finish let alone a rare custom color such as sonic blue. It is also important to note that both John Lennon and George Harrison of The Beatles owned and played 1962 sonic blue Stratocasters. In fact it was Harrisons 62 sonic blue which was later transformed into the famous &quot Rocky&quot Strat The Story We got this guitar from my uncle who stayed in Usa and now because we need cash we have to sell it. Description and Condition The Finish As stated the Sonic Blue Duco DuPont nitrocellulose finish which was sprayed over a coat of Daphne Blue (the slightly darker blue color exposed beneath the light blue coat) is 100 authentic and original to this awesome guitar. It is very common that Fender would use an entirely different color as an undercoat. Blue instruments will often have a different shade of blue white or even desert sand finish as the undercoat. The finish is over an Alder body and has faded to a more yellowed version of Sonic blue as evident when inspecting the finish under the pickguard. which has not yellowed and remains as when the guitar was new. The neck also retains all of its original clear nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The three original nail holes are easily recognized and original as this was the means Fender employed to dry pre-1963 Fender finishes. The neck and body share the exact same &quot fingerprint&quot where corresponding remnants of finish are transferred from the bottom of the neck to the neck pocket or vice-versa which is only seen on original finish Fender instruments from this era that have remained assembled for the entirety of their existence. The neck plate also makes a permanent impression upon the back of the body which results in a perfectly mirrored registration of where paint dirt oxidation has been sandwiched since originally assembled. The Neck The neck has original single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners. No extra holes nor any modifications were made to the headstock whatsoever. The original Spaghetti logo is completely intact and remains very crisp. All of the frets are original and exhibit typical although considerably minimal fret wear and oxidation. The Brazilian Rosewood slab board fingerboard is very thick and has original clay dot inlays. The neck has an ink stamped date code of &quot 2jun62B quot The back of the neck exhibits interesting wear consistent with that on the body. The neck is perfectly straight and the medium-large size soft-C profile is perfect. This neck is the quintessential Fender slab board neck. It feels comfortable smooth manageable and effortless. The Body The body is made of Alder as can be determined by the tight and symmetrical grain pattern which is quite apparent since the original finish has been partially absorbed by the body due to age. All of the routs are original and beautifully display original mill marks and original saw forensics. There are 3 original nail holes one to the immediate left of the where the bottom of the fingerboard meets the body one near a bottom pickguard screw hole on the bass side of the bridge and one in the input jack cavity. The cavities are crisp and show both wood and Daphne blue finish emerging from beneath the Sonic blue finish on All lightly painted cavity walls.
