Ecological Food & Farming Internships

An opportunity to enjoy, learn and develop from the experiences available at Church Farm, Ardeley. Would suit people who are intellectually strong, passionate about food & farming, willing to ask questions, eager to learn and improve things.

People who would like to learn to work with their hands, growing and producing the best food we can.

For between three months and two years we will welcome you, provide a place for you to learn and practically participate in a venture to create an ecological food and farming system.

We will provide you with
- Accommodation, 3 "Free" visits to our Farm Café to eat and drink whatever you would like everyday, £50 in expenses per week paid monthly.
A buddy to guide you and access to question and suggest improvements to all aspects of the operation

What will you do
Approximately 50% of your time on either the Food, Horticulture or Farm sections and the remaining time would include responsibility for some aspects and helping with the preparation, display, sale and cooking of what you help to grow and contact with the community through the Farm Store & Café and the Rural Care Enterprises

In return
- We expect you to be able and available to help out and learn by doing / shadowing people for up to 6 days a week and up to 8 hours a day, but flexibility being the buzzword.
Then over each 3 month period we would also expect you to have the need for up to 6 other days away from the farm.
We would expect that you let us know if for any reason you are unhappy and we will vice versa, so that this can be a mutually rewarding and pleasurable time in having you here with us for a while. If something arises that cannot be addressed then either party can cancel the internship at their discretion.
