The Most Improved School in Bracknell with a 21% increase in GCSE Results & Sports Specialism requires a Geography teacher to begin in January. This will initially be a maternity cover position.
SCHOOL
* This position is at a school truly on the way up. The new school year was buoyed by excellent results at GCSE and a new confidence in the teaching and learning which the school can boast.
* The GCSE groups did attain their targets and the class of 2009 returned a 13% increase on the previous year's results for 5A*-C including English and Mathematics and a massive 21% in 5A*-C overall with 97% achieving at least 5 GCSE passes.
* The School was a awarded Specialist status as a Sports College in July
* The students received the Diana Award for their work on anti-bullying. Therefore the school expects high standards of behaviour and we ensure that these standards are met.
* Students who transfer into year 7 tell us how well they are introduced to the ways of the school and staff regularly visit feeder schools to prepare students for this important move.
General Duties:
You will be expected to:-
* Support the aims and policies of the school
* Assist in maintaining the ethos and promoting the values of the school
* Support the uniform/dress code for pupils and staff
* Attend subject/team meetings in accordance with the school's calendar
* Follow relevant departmental schemes of work
* Keep an up-to-date record of lesson plans
* Regularly mark pupils'/students' work
* Maintain an up-to-date record of assessments
* Set homework according to the homework timetable and policy
* Assist members of the department in delivering the programmes of study across all Key Stages
* Plan schemes of work and programmes of study with members of the department
* Support where appropriate extra curricular activities
EXPERIENCE
* The ability to teach Geography up to A Level
* You will be a fully qualified teacher or a strong NQT,
* You will have UK experience but NQTs will be considered.
* Be able to offer 2 references
* Have a CRB or be willing to complete one
