We are a recently formed band (called Polartone - no gigs yet!) looking to replace our very talented drummer ASAP as is off to uni again for phd!

We re looking for drummer who wants to get involved in shaping the band at this early stage, - creative input is very important.

We are still developing our sound and so are a bit eclectic at the moment, but have influences such as Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emporer, Slint, Joy Division, Jeff Buckley, Cash, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Imogen Heap, stuff like Juno Reaktor, Mansun, Blur, The Clash, Kings Of Leon etc etc etc) we sound prob a bit like Portishead people have commented, though we are looking to develop a unique (if poss) sound, quite dark, claustrophbic but with definite melodic content

We are looking to move into mixing electronic beats and samples with acoustic drums, also wanting to maintain a pop element to the music with strong (female) vocals.

We need someone who can play drums to a very high standard and capable of playing and creating beats and potentially along with electronic beats / click. Our old drummer actually came from a jazz background so was able to play very interesting and subtle beats and not just big & loud rock beats!

We are all very friendly and have a good laugh but ultimately are trying to make a career out of this so we are very serious about making it work. We are looking for someone committed to making music and really trying to be successful as a band. (ideally someone who doesnt have another full time job!)
