Hey there all you scriptwriters!

Got a script but don’t know anything about film-making? You could be just what I am looking for.

I am an art director currently planning my first couple of shorts as a director as opposed to just doing the arty bit. I need scripts (any genre) that are interesting and fresh. I am not really bothered about stories we have heard before, I want something new, something that is either an amazing story, character, or place.

Doesn’t matter if you have ever had anything made or not, but please make sure if sending me scripts or samples that they are properly laid out. I should probably mention at this point that if you are too precious about your work, or have fixed ideas about how you want it to look, you probably wouldn’t like working with me, as I can picture how I want something to look pretty much from the minute I read it. But don’t let that put you off I love collaborating. I would very much like writers to be involved in the entire pre-production process and am open to listening to any visual ideas.

The finished shorts will be between 5-25 minutes (as this is the cutoff length for a lot of festivals submissions). I should also point out that I would prefer scripts that take place in one or just a few locations, to minimise art dept budget, and make filming fast. Pre production will take place over the next two months (for several films at once probably) and then we will shoot in January.

Anyone interested please get in touch with a sample of your work or at least a detailed synopsis of something you want to write or are in the process of writing. I am based in London but if you're not it doesn't really matter, we can communicate through email. Please note, however, I dont have the budget for trips in and out of the city.
