Support Workers Required
Central Care are currently recruiting support workers for a supported housing schemes across London. Initially this role will be to cover shifts on an ad hoc basis with the potential to advance onto a rolling rota on an ongoing basis. The housing schemes provide temporary accommodation for homeless families, people with LD,substance misuse and mental health problems.
The role of the worker is:
To provide cover to the project in accordance with the policies and guidelines laid down by the organisation.
To be responsible for health and safety and security of the building, residents and tenants.
To be responsible for the overall welfare of residents and tenants.
To offer advice, guidance and support to residents and tenants as appropriate, ensuring that relevant information is passed to the key worker and referring detailed or lengthy issues to the day team.
To be aware of the needs of more vulnerable residents and take appropriate action in the event of a crisis.
To ensure emergencies within the project are dealt with in an appropriate manner, calling the emergency services where necessary.
To operate both manual and computerised systems within the project.
The ideal candidate must:
Have knowledge and understanding of the housing and support needs of single, vulnerable people, including rough sleepers with additional support needs.
Have the ability to work independently, and on your own initiative, taking heed of existing practices, policies and procedures.
Have experience of key working and the ability to offer guidance, advice and support to residents/tenants, taking emergency action where appropriate.
Central offers free professional update & mandatory training to all registered workers.
