THE IDEA: Like photography?All skill levels will have a rare opportunity to benefit from the expertise of a highly respected Professional Photographer on this day,which also features a Blue Badge Tourist Guide - the best qualification in the profession. Combining one to one advice from the Photographer, this is a day spent exploring the fascinating area of Bankside and Borough Market in Southwark,London.Throughout the day our Photographer is on hand with tips and advice on landscapes, architectural shots,street photography,close ups, encouraging creative composition,and ensuring best use of your camera functions. This is a full day's photography!
THE TOUR: the morning is spent at the "Larder of London", an area rich in history beside the River Thames and with splendid views of Tower & London Bridge. Most of the morning is spent at Borough Market - which has been held for a thousand years. Traders bring a wide variety of produce to Borough Market - cheeses, breads & cakes, olives,spices, fruit &veg, meat & fish This is an array of colour,form and texture that is an inspiration for the photographer- and maybe a temptation to indulge in the gourmet offerings too! Crowds are drawn by the foodie delights and make great street photography!
Lunch (included) gives a great opportunity to review the morning's work.
The afternoon is spent in this area of narrow cobbled riverside alleys,where the delights of a bawdy history of Alehouses,Playhouses, Prisons and "Stews" await. Cheek by jowl were bishops and bards..and the Bishop of Wichester's "Geese".. The Globe Theate and the stark building of Tate Modern, the classic views of St Paul's and the Millennium (wobbly) Bridge all offer great opportunities for creative photography.
