Luxury Goods Branch Manager
Luxury leathergoods company seeking to appoint a Branch Manager. Please see the job description below. The ideal candidate should have a leather goods management background.
Job Title: BRANCH MANAGER
Report To: AREA MANAGER
Responsible: BRANCH TEAM
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
1. To manage and develop an efficient sales team in order to maximise sales within the Branch.
2. To manage the Branch effectively through sales and effective cost control in order to achieve maximum profitability for the Company.
3. To ensure that Company policy and standards are met at all times.
4. To actively promote the Company’s quality standards particularly emphasising ‘focus on excellence’ through sales and service procedures.
5. To be aware of key performance areas. These being sales targets, sundry sales, stock control, service standards, staff turnover and staffing and stock control.
MANAGING PEOPLE
1. Working with the Area Manager to agree annual staffing budget, which will be reviewed on an on-going basis according to business needs.
2. To ensure that recruitment is in line with Company policy.
3. Maintain payroll costs within the annual budget.
4. Training should be carried out in accordance with Company policy i.e., induction weekly training sessions, particularly emphasising the customer’s shopping experience.
Service standards as out lined in the mystery shopping reports.
All Staff conversant with the nine steps to a successful sale.
Sundry training and weekly monitoring to achieve Branch target.
5. Ensure that duties are delegated so as to improve the efficient organisation of the Branch, to motivate and involve staff and to encourage the interchange of ideas.
6. Ensure that by training and involvement, the Assistant Manager is fully capable of deputising.
7. Assess and review staff performance on a regular basis, ensuring that Company appraisals are carried out annually and to take responsibility for own personal development in discussion with Area Manager.
8. In conjunction with the Area Manager take disciplinary action in accordance with Company procedures when necessary.
9. Ensure that all appropriate Company personnel procedures are followed and that accurate Branch personnel and training records are maintained.
10. Communicate relevant Company and Branch information to staff on a regular basis.
11. Ensure the highest standard of appearance/grooming of all staff at all times, in accordance with Company dress code.
MERCHANDISE MANAGEMENT
1. Ensure that the Company’s visual merchandising standards are maintained.
2. Ensure that required Branch housekeeping standards and retail standard checklist are maintained.
3. To be aware of Company and Branch best sellers, slow sellers and advertised lines.
4. To be aware of seasonal ranges, stock holding and stock deliveries and to ensure that stockrooms are organised in a manner to achieve maximum sales.
5. Implement Company stock control procedures as outlined in B.O.S.S. file, ensuring that stock losses are within the Company performance parameters.
6. Prepare for stock take audits (normally six-monthly) and collate Branch results.
SECURITY
1. Ensure that Company cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
2. Inform Area Management of any incidents/irregularities or theft of Company property.
3. Ensure control of stock at all times to minimise possible loss through theft.
4. Ensure security of Company property by maintaining vigilance of the Branch at all times.
5. To carry out regular bag/locker checks.
POINT OF SALE AND BRANCH ADMINISTRATION
1. Be fully conversant with sales system and methods of payments.
2. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the retail pro systems and ensure that the correct procedures for retail pro are implemented.
3. Ensure that cashing up procedures are correctly and accurately adhered to.
4. To maintain a thorough knowledge of Company systems as set out in the B.O.S.S. file and to ensure that all documentation including reports/e-mails are completed accurately.
5. Implement and maintain control over Branch costs i.e., payroll, heating, lighting, telephone and all controllable costs.
6. Implement any other instructions as may be specified by the Area Manager or Head Office.
GENERAL
1. Maintain effective communication with Area Manager/Head Office.
2. Keep all staff up-to-date with weekly Branch sales achievements and discuss how these achievements relate to business.
3. Ensuring that trading hours of your Branch are adhered to at all times, and adapted to suit business needs in discussion with Area Manager.
4. Assist the Area Manager with ad hoc projects if required.
