Position: Fundraising Manager
Location: South Ruislip, Middlesex, North West London
Salary: £33-37K Basic

COMPANY:
The British Polio Fellowship is the largest charity supporting people with polio or Post Polio Syndrome in the UK. They were founded in 1939 by and for people with polio and continue to provide information and support to people with polio, their families and health care professionals. They were one of the first organisations of disabled people in the UK and have acted as a voice for people with polio for nearly 70 years.

ROLE:
To ensure fundraising income targets are met by supporting existing fundraising income streams; further developing applications to Trust and statutory funders; initiating new sources of fundraising income; supporting and developing fundraising staff and voluntary fundraising initiatives including Fellowship branches & groups.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) At least 3 years fundraising experience, particularly making Trust and statutory funding applications.
b) Familiarity with fundraising legislation and codes of practice.
c) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
d) Good IT Skills and use of Microsoft Office software including Excel spreadsheets, internet/email and databases.
e) Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
f) Experience/ability to manage and monitor budgets.
g) Creative/innovative thinker.
h) Ability to think strategically.
i) Ability to organise and prioritise workload using initiative.
j) Commitment to working with disabled people.
k) Ability to work as part of a small team, with or without direct supervision.
l) Willingness to undertake training as required.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience of working in the charity sector.
b) To have a clear understanding of and commitment to the vision of the British Polio Fellowship.
