This fantastic opportunity has arisen in this multicultural inner city co-educational secondary school for a November 2009 start. This would be ideal for someone who is considering pursuing a PGCE or GTP from September 2010. My clients’ school is an inner city specialist ‘Science College’ which has been recently graded as ‘Outstanding’ in their OfSTED (04/2009). Students derive from the surrounding area which has a large Bengali community. The school; has majority minority ethnic groups so has many EAL students.

You will be an enthusiastic, driven and personable individual who has the capacity to work on a one on one or small group basis with students with Special Educational Needs in particular ASD students. You will work cross curricular in Key Stage 3/4 particularly focusing on literacy and numeracy. The school has a very large and fully equipped Special Needs Department. The SENCO is very experienced and has been at the school for 7 years, a significant and supportive leader who will be an influential part of your progressive route to becoming a good teacher in the future.
